On June 4 2014, there was an opening ceremony of the academic center of humanity field Institute for Comparative Research in Human and Social Sciences (ICR).
Starting with Professor Tsuboi the head of Humanity faculty in University of Tsukuba opening speech, Professor Tsujinaka the chairman of ICR gave an explanation of the mission and function of ICR. ICR includes, existing Center for International, Comparative and Advanced Japanese Studies and Research Center for West Asian Civilization, plus Research Group of Japanese and Japanese Culture. ICR follows two other propriety research centers in the university and also the first academic center in the humanity field. To tackle global issues we put symbiosis as of value. Our mission is to seek for ways to symbiosis without breaking individual identity through innovation of comparative and human society. Trans-border, collaborative, innovative.
