From November 6 to 8, 2015, Prof. Yutaka Tsujinaka, the director of ICR attended “Beijing Forum, 2015” held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and Peking University and gave a key note speech.

From November 6 to 8, 2015, “Beijing Forum, 2015” was held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse adn Peking University. The forum was international conference which approved by the Chinese Ministry of education, and co-sponsored by Peking University, Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, and Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies. Research institutes, universities and civil society organizations (CSOs) from all over the world got together and had lively discussions to promote researches in the field of humanities and social sciences especially in the Asian Pacific Region.
The theme of “Beijing Forum, 2015” was “Different Roads with Common Responsibilities” which was divided into 8 panels. Prof. Tsujianka (Professor of the University of Tsukuba Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, President of the Japanese Political Science Association) gave a key note speech titled “The Role of Civil Society for the Local Governance in Asia and China” in the panel titled “Social Innovation in Times of Change”.
Prof. Puqu Wang (Peking University) was the chairman of the panel, and Prof. Jinpeng Li (Peking University), Prof. Annette Zimmer (President elect of the International Society for Third Sector Research, ISTR) , Prof. Min-Hsiu Chiang (National Chengchi University) and Douglas Miller (Chairman of Asian Venture Philanthropy Network) also gave key note speeches.
Almost 30 speeches and discussions had been made for next 3 days. The panels titled “New Urbanization: Global Experience and China’s Way” and “International Cooperation and Development in the New Normal: The One Belt One Road Strategy” were also held, and professors and participants enjoyed a lively discussion regarding desirable vision of future societies and path to them.
